Embodiment as Self Care
Learning to Inhabit the Body & Experience Greater Aliveness
You know there's more aliveness in you.
You just don't know how to access it.
DOES ANY OF THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?:You’re feeling flat, numb, or stagnant.
You want to bring something new into the world but are struggling to find the energy and momentum to overcome the obstacles.
You don’t notice your body much, unless it causes you problems or pain.
You're feeling disconnected from yourself.
You’re longing to feel a greater sense of connection with your kids or intimacy with your romantic partner.
You notice you don't have the energy for things that normally bring you joy.
I’ve been in your shoes.
Angie Fox, coach & somatic practitioner
For years I didn't think much about my body other than when I got sick, had migraine headaches, or back pain. It wasn't until my first coach training (coincidentally, during my first pregnancy) that I started to connect with my body and feel what it felt like from the inside.
Since then, I've been on a 20 year inner exploration to allow myself to FEEL more of everything. As I've learned to welcome anger, I've also opened up to feeling more of my own innate power and strength, and to feel more energy move in my body without getting overwhelmed. As I've learned to allow more sadness and to process more grief, I've touched into my own vulnerability and become a better support for others. And, to my surprise, with this softening, I can now experience more pleasure and joy.
We can experience ourselves and our worlds more fully.
Working somatically to increase our embodiment helps us experience a fuller range of feeling, allowing more of our inner aliveness to flow, expanding our creativity, sense of purpose, and ability to express our care and love in the world.
When we FEEL more (of what we often think of as unpleasant), we expand the range of what we can FEEL that also includes what is enjoyable. And the opposite is true: when we numb ourselves from the pain or discomfort, we also cut off pleasure and joy.
Ways To Work Together:
Four different journeys to the same destination
CHOOSE THE BEST PATH FOR YOU:Expanding Emotional Range & Enlivening the Body
A WEEKLY 8-PART ONLINE INTRODUCTORY SERIESFridays from 9-10 am PST over Zoom: July 10, 17, 24, 31, August 7, 14, 21, 28.

In the first session we play with Emotional Asanas to explore a variety of feeling states. Over the following 7 weeks we bring curiosity, awareness and movement to different parts of our bodies that can help soften and relax the muscles that help us feel and/or block emotions, and notice the impact it has on our breath, our mood, nervous system, sense of possibility, etc. A cross between a yoga class, improv, acting, and play!
Ideal for coaches, therapists, leaders, parents - anyone that wants to cultivate more authentic expression and deepen connection to self and others through your embodied presence.
Restoring Aliveness & Deepening Contact with Feelings
MONTHLY IN-PERSON PRACTICE GROUP
Sundays from 1-4pm PST in Pinole, CA: 9/13, 10/11, 11/8, 12/6
Cost: $225--$375 (Sliding Scale)
An opportunity to connect more deeply with yourself and in relationship with others to restore your aliveness and to increase contact with your innate body wisdom. In these three hour in-person sessions, you will work individually, in pairs and in group processes to open up your body, enliven your breath, and activate feeling states that help bring you in greater contact with what you feel, want, and need. By working in an ongoing group, trust in the field deepens over time. We start with this fall series, and will set dates for winter and spring together.
Ideal if you want to increase your energy, vitality and aliveness, work through emotional situations in a playful and supportive way with others, and experience more enjoyment in your body and a fuller engagement with life and in your relationship with others. Also helpful for coaches and therapists that want to explore ways to bring somatic work into their sessions.
These sessions are part of my ongoing advanced somatic training and supervision in a body of work called Radix.

About My Approach:
My somatic approach is inspired and informed by nearly two decades of coaching experience, and as a teacher and coach in Aletheia.
More recently I've been studying in a body-oriented growth process called Radix. Both include neo-Reichian forms of breath and body work, are trauma-informed, and grounded in the latest neuroscience and understanding of attachment and development.
Feel free to ask me more about either, or my own personal growth journey.
You’ll come away feeling:
like you had a day at the spa—exhaling more deeply, muscles more relaxed, and more aware of your body.
more aliveness in your body, perhaps like you had a meaningful whole-body workout without the sweat.
more connected to yourself and able to connect with important others in your life.
more in contact with your feelings and emotions in ways that leave you feeling whole, human, and integrated.
a greater ease in living your purpose and tending to things you care about.
better able to listen to the wisdom of your body so you can better care for yourself.
